Voters party international today started the protest at VIP Road, Guwahati as per the 3 declared program. This protest is organized to pressurize the government to declare the problem of the flood of Assam the National problem. The VPI workers are disappointed with prime minister Shri Narendra Modi who did not mention the problem of Assam in his speech delivered on independence day. This demand was made by the protestors in its previous protest held on dated 26th and 7 July. The VPI workers started storage at the place of protest in the early morning. At about 10 a.m. -thousands of party workers gathered and raised slogans to declare the problem of flood a national problem and to grant economic freedom to voters. The speakers warned the government that the VPIworkers should not be treated as the actors like the parties of politicians they said the VPI is the party of voters, not politicians which is why they are not protesting just for the sake of propaganda.
Addressing the gathering the state president of the party Mr. Lalit Prabhu saved that our mental Mr. Vishwatma Bharat Gandhi has not been taught to do just drama in the name of social and political services to the public. He added that what is done by the VPI, is done by heart. The representative of the Central Committee Mrs. Amina Sherwani says that this protest is organized to get a permanent solution to the flood not to get just a relief package, which is usually the victim of administrative leakage and corruption. Sri Taruni Basumatary the state head of the economic freedom movement informed the protestors that the central government has granted rupees 250 crores and the state government has granted 56 crores which comes to a total of 307 crores of this money will be divided among the 57 lac victims of flood then they will get only rupees 538 which is nothing. Mr. Abu Sharma a member of the State Committee said that only the management of water is the solution to the flood. He added that this is the reason the demanding day problem of flood should be considered a National problem. The protestor’s bill forms a steering committee tomorrow and this protest will continue until the acceptance of the demand.
